Week 2

Craft: I, kindly, asked someone close to me to act as if they were walking up a staircase so I could take a photograph of their shoes in action. I decided to do this outside in the early morning to recieve less light than mid day, but more light than an inside staircase.

Composition: I like the idea of stairs ascending so I placed the feet directly in the center to show the single path up a staircase.

Concept: I have always been told that people's legs look the best while walking up stairs. This made me start thinking about the shoes role in this activity. Does the shoe make the leg look better? I set my sights to find out. And in conclusion it's not the shoe that makes the leg look good, it's exercise.

Craft: I first grabbed my old hockey skates. Then, while walking around my yard, I noticed a chunk of ice that had begun to melt. I placed the blades within a crevice in the ice as a holster.

Composition: I wanted to focus on the melting ice and blades more than anything else so I made sure to place the skates off to the side so I could view more melting ice.

Concept: After watching all the snow beginning to melt I remembered that i had my hockey skates still out. I decided that by placing these skates upon the melting ice would be a symbolic gesture of both the hard times (rusted metal skates) and the dying of a season (melting ice).
